G3 Mold Fakies
This type of fakie is pretty self explanitory. Fakie collectors just refer to them as G3 mold fakies. These are fakies that have been made in identical molds or poses as real Hasbro G3 ponies. A common charactaristic of this type of fakie is a large head, disproportionate to the rest of the body. They also usually have rooted tails. (Yuck.)
Their quality runs the spectrum. Some are pretty cheap and crappy, with sticker eyes and big heads, while others are pretty darn convincing. The manufacturers often steal MLP/Hasbro artwork and logos and use them on their packaging. I can see a lot of parents buying them thinking they are real. Most have no branding, other than a "CHINA" stamp. These are very similar to the Boley (Dollar General G3 mold fakies) execpt that the Boley's are smaller.
There seem to be dozens and dozens of variations. Tracking them all would be impossible, since more and more are posted on the forums every week in countries all over the world. They show up in dollar stores, pound shops, and other venues that sell novelties of questionable origins.
The Sparkle G3 fakies are the same thing, but the fact that they are glittery makes them deserve their own page.

Here are four of the super-long-hair Dollar Tree fakies.
They were sold in Dollar Tree Stores in 2010-2011 and they really do have 15 inch long hair.
They are very cheaply made, but the colors are pretty. I am not sure why my Sugarberry is in
the photo, but let it be known that she is a ham.
